You can’t always feel what you’re doing in the water.

You might feel like your stroke is long, your rotation is strong, or your body position is streamlined — but swimming happens too quickly for you to see every detail while you're doing it.

That's where video analysis changes the game.

At Swimalyze, we use both above-water and underwater footage to give swimmers a clearer picture of what is really happening throughout their stroke.

Because sometimes, the smallest details can make the biggest difference.

See What You Can't Feel

Swimming is three-dimensional.

Your stroke doesn't just happen on the surface. Your hands, arms, body position, rotation and kick are all interacting with the water beneath you.

That's why looking at your swimming from one angle doesn't always tell the full story.

Above-Water Analysis

Filming from above the surface allows us to look at things such as:

  • Body alignment and overall position

  • Breathing and head movement

  • Rotation and timing

  • Arm recovery

  • Stroke rhythm and coordination

These are details you may not be able to recognise while you're swimming — but they can become obvious when you see yourself back on screen.

Underwater Analysis

This is where we can go deeper.

Underwater footage gives us a completely different perspective on your stroke, allowing us to examine elements such as:

  • Hand entry and catch

  • Pull pattern

  • Elbow position

  • Body rotation

  • Leg and kick mechanics

  • How you are actually interacting with the water

It's one thing to be told to “improve your catch.”

It's another to see exactly what your hand and forearm are doing underwater.

Turn Feedback Into Understanding

Good coaching isn't simply about being told what to change.

It's about understanding why something needs to change.

Video gives swimmers something tangible to work with. You can see the movement, understand the adjustment and then take that knowledge back into the pool.

That creates a much stronger connection between what you're being asked to do and what you're actually doing.

And that awareness is a huge part of becoming a better swimmer.

Don't Try to Fix Everything at Once

One of the biggest benefits of video analysis is being able to identify the details that will make the biggest difference.

You don't need to completely rebuild your stroke.

Sometimes it's one adjustment.

A better rotation.

A more effective catch.

A change in head position.

A more connected stroke.

The goal isn't to give you a list of 20 things to fix.

It's to identify what matters most, work on it, and build from there.

See Your Progress

Video analysis isn't just useful for identifying what needs to improve.

It's also a powerful way to see how far you've come.

When you compare footage over time, changes that might feel small in the water can become incredibly obvious on screen.

And there is something motivating about being able to actually see your own progress.

Swim With More Awareness

At Swimalyze, we believe better swimming starts with better understanding.

Our video analysis combines above-water and underwater footage with coaching insight to help swimmers understand their technique, identify opportunities for improvement and make more informed changes to their training.

Because you shouldn't just swim more.

You should understand your swimming better.

And sometimes, all it takes is seeing yourself from a different perspective.
